First Look: Harry As Tom (My Policeman)

It seems so long ago when we were discussing the casting choices for this film, and debating how it would all play out. Now look how far we’ve come!

Are they meeting for the first time in the story? Is it love at first sight? I sense a good chemistry between Harry and David already. I can’t imagine how intense the more romantic scenes will be! Wait until we see them hold each other or kiss! 🙁 Don’t forget there is the potential for Harry to have the first nude scenes of his acting career in this film!

Oh my God it’s happening!

These images are all dated May 3, 2021- May 4, 2021 where My Policeman was being filmed in Brighton, England. Apparently the setup resulted in a major traffic jam, which is to be expected once fans heard word of THEE Harry Styles being in the general vicinity! I know I would’ve been present too!

Can you hear me screaming?? I didn’t think I would be so affected by seeing him in this role, yet here we are. For some reason it just feels pivotal for his career and for him as a person. Perhaps it’s, idk, authentic?? Maybe it hits home for him on a profound level, which would explain why it’s making me sort of emotional about the whole thing?

My gosh, look at him. What a stud! *drools*

Also, side note, I forgot the book is called “My Policeman” so duh he is playing the policeman. (My oh my, how I love a man in uniform! 😍😍😍)

As always, I’m just too proud of him. He’s such a babe in his uniform and he’s killing so many industries right now. I hope this film lands him an Oscars’ nod, or at least the respect of other high level professionals in the industry. I think he’s well on his way to achieving that!

Thoughts on seeing Harry actively entrenched into his new role? I can’t believe it! We finally get to see Harry kissing someone again in public (I don’t mean that in a pervy way) and it’s more adorable than I anticipated!

  1. Pictures from the beach … Harry is looking amazing – fresh faced and glorious – and he smile is wonderful. Shots look so natural. Great shots of David and Emma too looking right in the vibe. Really, really excited for the movie .. going to be amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. .

  2. Has anyone seen the pictures of Harry on the steps on set ?The man to his right wearing a black mask and beanie looks like Zayn.There is another photo that shows He has neck tattoos and earring.

      1. Thank you, Jan, for posting where to find both photos. And thank you, A.D., for putting up with my multiple posts. I’ve spent an unhealthy amount of time analyzing those two photos and here I go:

        -The person is wearing an identical beanie to one Zayn has been photographed wearing.
        -The person’s eyes are uncannily similar to Zayn’s, especially the undereye area.
        -The person appears to have a slit in the right eyebrow, like Zayn.
        -The person is wearing an earring in the left ear like Zayn generally wears (ok I realize lots of folks wear earrings).
        -The person appears to have a beard.
        -The person appears to have a dark area behind and below the left ear that looks like a tattoo. It looks like a tattoo on the right side of the neck but it’s harder to see.
        -The person appears to have the general build of Zayn and is hanging back from others as though he isn’t part of the crew. I’ve looked at other photos of the crew and I don’t see this person.

        And while I find it hard to believe that Harry and Zayn would be out where they could easily be photographed together, I’m going out on a limb and say that the person in both pics IS Zayn Malik. Now I desperately need someone on this thread to tell me I’m delusional and it can’t possibly be Zayn!! Please…anyone…

        1. It’s very interesting that Harry supposedly left the set with a coat over his head a couple of days ago. Every night since He’s been filmed leaving and waving and doing the peace sign to fans.Why would He need to put a coat over his head ? Everyone knows He’s filming and you could see him on the beach or on the streets. How did the posters of this footage know it was Harry under there ? Was this someone wearing his coat ? Interesting that Gigi has stopped posting Zayn but Leah McCarthy has posted that Gigi has done her nails.

        2. A friend texted me today and told me I AM delusional! (I hate her as she loves correcting me.) She saw a photo posted today of the same person standing next to Harry and he appears to be a crew member. She also told me that I missed the headset that the man is wearing in one of the earlier pics. She couldn’t find the link again so if anyone finds the pic let me know. That Zarry hope didn’t last long.

    3. I guarantee a Zigi pap walk is coming if anyone makes a comment on social media that it looks like Zayn. I haven’t seen the pic, but I doubt it’s him as Harry and Zayn seem to go to great lengths not to be seen together.

    4. @Jan the larries have a photo of Louis on the set standing next to Harry, but wearing a brown police hat, so if Zayn’s there, too, that’s three fifths of One Direction.

The larries had photos from the behind the scenes part of the “Golden” video, at the end when Harry is waving to the crowd and getting into the car and they made up a photo with Louis standing next to him and they aren’t good photoshopping efforts either, so it’s not like you’re thinking it might be real. I also noticed they seem to make Louis bigger when they Photoshop him, because they also view Harry as an accessory, so he shouldn’t be taller than Louis. Even if they were better at photoshopping, the larries stalk Harry and Louis, how could they be places together with lots of cameras and crowds and stalkers and not be noticed? If Zayn wore sunglasses to cover his beautiful eyes and a mask for covid and a hat, he might go unnoticed, but the larries stalk Harry and Louis.

            I did notice both Harry and Louis are both on planet Earth at exactly the same time, so that’s suspicious.

      2. That is so weird. I’ve seen photo shop images of “Larry going to the Oscars” for MP. I find the forced narrative so invasive and kind of creepy actually. I concede there was clearly a friendship early on. Maybe it was more than that .
        But mostly the idea of it being more than that seems to be a product of fan fics that got out of control and became an alternate reality.

        1. I agree. I think at first it was and only was a friendship. Harry seemed to enjoy Louis craziness, being the oldest maybe he took a leader role and Harry I think at first looked for his approval almost. Louis liked the attention from Harry and that leader position. Once things took a turn toward like a possession type of relationship, Harry I think tried to distance himself and that pissed Louis off. I believe it was never romantic but more attention seeking,controlling, and a chess move bc he knew Harry was a star. Personally, I think those Larries aka Louis fans are a little delusion. Even their best edit cldnt compare to Zarry and they kno that which is why they make it their job to push Larry in everything.

    5. Jan, I posted a previous comment that hasn’t been moderated, but I’ve changed my opinion. I have now seen the pic you described (sorry, A.D., I didn’t get the link) and it does look a lot like Zayn. I haven’t seen the second pic that shows the earring or tats, but Zayn has been photographed before wearing the same exact beanie.

I AM SO SO SO EXCITED FOR THIS MOVIE, even more than don’t worry darling I don’t why. maybe it is because in the my policeman BTS shots he looks like an adorable cupcake but for dwd he straight up looks like he is plotting murder haha. I can sense that this going to be my new comfort movie because I don’t know it feels like it. I mean the location is beautiful, the actors and actresses have a chilled and cool vibe and my comfort person in acting in it, harryyyy, and I don’t know I can feel the chemistry between all of them especially harry and David and I know Emma and Harry were friends already. also I just got the book in the mail!! and now I am debating whether or not I should read it yet. but anyhow I don’t know and the past few days have been terrible for me and I am just excited to get harry content and I just like Harry being in London. I don’t want him to lose his pretty little accent haha

I looked at a video on youtube showing these photos, or similar, from the movie and the larries are already in the comments, since they have to make Harry share everything with his imaginary husband, but his imaginary husband doesn’t have to share anything with Harry. I guess if Harry wins an Oscar, he will have to thank his imaginary husband. I’ve thought of going into the comments for one of the cute Narry videos and writing about all of Harry’s secret looks at Louis, but it would probably just end up as poorly photoshopped proofs somewhere.

  7. I have to say something that really frustrates me is people not getting that Marion is in love with Tom but Tom is not in love with Marion and is actually not interested in girls at all, . .

    3. Agreed. His character is gay. Simply put. It is a disservice to the story to report it as anything else. And so homophobic of the media outlets. And Harry knew what he signed up for so it is not as though he would have an issue of accurately depicting the storyline. Annoying.

  8. aaaawww, if I’m not totally mistaken (but you can see it pretty well in one video where Harry and David are running into the street and stop in the middle, as well as in some of the photos), they are using green and yellow markers on the floor for them.
    Shouldn’t be hard for Harry to remember his is the green one lol

I think I just choked on my own drool. *sigh* I’m glad as well that he didn’t need to go blonde. I was going to hold off on reading the book until after the film, but I couldn’t help myself. I’m well in to Patrick’s version of the story now. Even though I’m not too happy with a certain someone these days, I just grinned as I read about Icarus. Sky is the limit for Harry after this.   13. Thinking about Harry taking the role as Tom, I haven’t read the book but I’m getting that Tom is more like Zayn. This could be very therapeutic for Harry. Getting as close as possible to what life might be like being in Zayns shoes. It is a know process in therapy to use role reversal to understand ones partner thru acting/dialogue. Again I didn’t read the book, but u never know. Harry’s writing is therapeutic from his point of view only, so maybe to either move on or just understand Zayn from a different angle.

    1. i read half of the book and you’re right tom is the one with a strong family expectation .. a dominant father .. and unforgiving environment .. so much like zayn 👌🏻

    2. Yes a few people mentioned before how he seems to be playing the opposite role, maybe to understand Zayn better. I think that’s a very Harry thing to do, so it makes perfect sense to me. Puts me in the mind of him reading “The Course Of Love.” He seems like the type to do anything for love.

      1. I kno Zayn doesn’t deserve Harry and hasn’t for a while but man Harry deserves his sunflower. He literally is all in, devoted to his love. I mean….Wake the f up Zayn… this man is a unicorn.       2. Also who would you cast as Tom if Harry was cast as Patrick? It’s not a relationship between 2 visually adonis. Tom’s the beauty and Patrick brings the life experience and love of the arts. One of the many interesting things about My Policeman is that even though Patrick is definitely initially attracted by Tom’s beauty, even in that moment it’s Tom’s underlying character/who he is inside that Patrick actually falls in love with. In that I find Harry is such a cool fit for Tom because (in my view) his physical beautiful is the icing on his character i.e. who he is as a person and the energy he puts into the world. because of his character. Also Harry seems/talks about being attracted by character traits and physical traits related to character i.e.eyes (window of the soul). and smiles. Anyway back on track. So much of the tragedy in what happens is the loss of the very beautiful relationship.Patrick and Tom share. Whereas Marion actually falls in love with Tom visually then builds a whole fantasy world (when he’s away in army and then police training) around being his girlfriend/wife. So she doesn’t see who Tom is as person and never thinks past having Tom on her arm for the world to see. i.e. it’s a “look who I’m with” situation i.e. Tom is kind of a possession/accessory item. In that she also doesn’t really see who she might actually be in certain respects either..

  14. There’s something wrong with all these pictures. The book makes a point of Tom (Harry) having blond curly hair. There’s no evidence of it in these pictures. I knew they’d f**k it up🤨

        1. I think the people who do bad photoshopping for the larries, did those bad blond edits, because I find it hard to believe someone who could pull off a neon red mermaid wig would look bad blond, but those edits would make me team brunette Harry.

    2. The movie is an adaption of the novel. Yes Tom is blond in the book but the key characteristic is actually that Tom a very beautiful looking man. That’s part of why both Marion and Patrick fall for Tom. Harry is already a very beautiful looking man. So there really isn’t any need for Harry to go blond to play Tom. I think Harry is a brilliant fit for the role just as he is. .

  16. Just finished the book! It has its flaws but it also just made me really emotional thinking about zarry and how many things fit them.
    *possible spoilers*

    -Patrick’s waiting, him saying how the aniticipation is worth it. How he can deal with a girlfriend, fiance or wife as long as they’re not Tom’s lover. How he’s willing to share him.
    -The icarus statue and how beautiful he is
    -not being able to swim
    -being scared of heights
    -“we should fly to the moon”
    -“…despite this the man went on loving him. He will always love him” 💔

    I can’t even begin to imagine what this must feel like for Harry. I hope it’s an incredibly rewarding experience. Plus they all fit their characters so well.

    1. He may pretend not to care, but there’s no way he won’t care, based on his past jealousy and possessiveness of Harry while he himself was with Perrie. Nothing has changed really except now its Gigi. And zayn is still doing things to try to connect himself to Harry.

      2. I know this might cause controversy but I think that H&Z are together. Well, together though yet apart. I believe they are both in a planned “gap year” whilst Zayn and GG manage a split (custody, finances, and a storyline that will suit both their needs for their future lives). I also think that Z&H are dropping a lot of hints to prepare us…..Zayn’s earrings, their matching Bode suit, Zayn’s pearl bracelet, Harry’s right hand ring on that important finger, as well as the new pearl ring, also several of the songs on NIL that Z wrote for him, and what about Z’s green jacket and pants. And, at the moment, they are both “acting”, Harry quite literally in “My Policeman” and his PR thing with Olivia…and Zayn in the ridiculous PAP strolls where he looks mortified. I believe they are in their “wait” right now. A long time back I read that Harry was building a home in Ireland, complete with an elaborate dog house and run, but that quickly went silent. Perhaps they have a secret rendevous place where they can be together now and then on the DL.

        My dream is to see them walking hand in hand into the Oscars for My Policeman!

I bet Zayn is “loving” these pictures and all the attention Harry is getting. I wldnt be surprised to see Gigi dressed up in a cop outfit for her next pap walk. LOL!!!
    But honestly, I do hope Z feels like shit seeing Harry living life without him: being strong&brave, kissing ppl, trying new things, and putting himself out there all while his life stays staged and stagnant.
    I can’t wait to see both movies. I really believe Harry is just a super star. He cld just stand there though and I’d be happy. Lol. It’s been so long, I miss Harry!

  19. I have great respect for Harry. He‘s never afraid to leave his comfort zone and take a risk. That‘s exactly what is needed to evolve as a human being. I can’t imagine how exciting and challenging this role is for him, as so close to his reality.
    Unfortunately Zayn turned out to be the complete opposite. The harder he is trying to look straight and manly, the weaker and „smaller“ he looks (especially next to Gigi 😏). I wish Harry all the luck!

    1. Quite an astute point about how zayn appears next to Gigi, almost defeated and small, like someone falling in line, despite trying to look unfuckwitable. Harry’s success is owing a lot to networking and trying new things very often. It’s paid off immensely for him.

    2. I am screaming too with excitement. Seeing H in this role makes me very happy. Something is going to change, I can feel it. That scene is very nice to read, narrated by Patrick (no spoilers). Tom’s character is a delight and I think H is going to give him a very special touch. I’m glad they didn’t make him blonde

  21. I just ordered the book. I, too, am excited. I think this role will ignite something in Harry and he will move on
    Already leaving Zayn in the dust career wise. Now we will see him leave Zayn ass alone for good. He deserves all the misery he has coming to him for not living his truth. I want to see Harry genuinely happy and I believe that’s possible without closeted Zayn. Don’t get me wrong, I love Zayn the musician just not Zayn the man. Or should I say Gigi’s man-child. 😆

I am soooo excited about this movie, I can’t stand these pictures and waiting 😂 Book made me cry, I really like the way it is written, I like the story, characters, everything… I saw there is a lot of critique toward book, but for me it is definitely my cup of tea. I’m so excited for Harry to play this role, he is perfect for it (although some of the characteristics of Patrick could be also connected to Harry IRL 😜). I adore David also and he has some really unusual beauty to me, good job who ever chose him, Emma is also perfect fit.
    Anyway, role of Harry’s life (at least for now) definitely!! Maybe it will help him to be more open, if he wants to be anyway, if not, ok with me.. Sometimes I think of his latest performance of Golden when he changed lyrics to Hoping some day I could be open, so that is why I am saying this, but if he is happy, we all are (just dying of impatience to be able to watch this movie 😍)

  24. They are meeting first time and it is love at first sight, at least for Patrick. After reading the book I can say that David is literally one of the actors best suited for the role of Patrick. I also sense good chemistry between them. I can’t wait to see those intense scenes I read when I saw these photos. Especially when Harry cries or looks lovingly at David.. Good luck to both Zayn and us in the scenes where they have sex.

        I was watching a video were celebs talk about H. And there is one where they interview Paul Rudd, and he is talking about H. And from nowhere he said, Z is the Shy one.
        Steve mentioned Z. Too and Lizzo. Talk about him too.
        Connecting this puzzle, I’m 100% sure that H. Talk about Z. With his closers friends. They all love H. They all giving him there’s support.
        H. Has saying in interviews that been honest with his friends has been a much better experience and there much closer now.

    I saw his sister on a live stream, I watched a video on youtube and not the original livestream at the time, and she said he was good at anything that interests him and she said it without a bit of envy or jealousy, nothing but pride.

    1. I had the same thought as you! I was like oh my gosh his face looks like 2012 Harry a bit 😅😂 he looks like a kid playing dress up at certain angles 🤣 but when he’s with Marion the energy is very grown 🔥

      1. I think he might keep a little bit of scruff on his face so he doesn’t have to show ID to get a drink. I’ve read comments elsewhere, before this movie, saying he looks like he’s aging, but he has always had dimples and smile lines and the scruff makes them more noticeable, so he’s trying to look older, he knows he looks like a teenager cleanshaven.

        2. He also looks younger when his hair is shorter and more off his face. The hair has a personality of it’s own 🙂 He definitely younger without facial hair and also when his face less full/finer. His mum has ver youthful look too so likely a genetic blessing to Harry. But Harry can also change his look between one moment and the next.because Harry has a very mobile and wonderfully expressive face. He is also someone who can commit fully to the moment and be fully present. He’s said that acting is about being someone else and Harry is able to fully invest in being that other person. Just makes him so believable and that energy effects those around him. Christopher Nolan talked about Harry’s capacity for honesty and Harry being very subtle and very real in Dunkirk where his role was about portraying the less nice side of human nature. I was intrigue by how easy it was to forget that he was Harry Styles and see him as his character. Chris Nolan Harry is very talented and I think he will continue to make his mark in film as well as in music. Harry is a very gifted artist and performer who works hard at his craft. .

    2. Gemma truly adores him and its a beautiful thing to see. I’m happy to know his mom and sister seem to understand him and support him on a unique level
